What to cover
- Who you are and your contact details.
- What personal data you collect (eg email address, name).
- Why you collect it (the purpose) and your lawful basis.
- How long you keep it.
- Who you share it with (eg your email platform as a processor).
- How people can exercise their rights (access, erasure, etc).
- How people can complain to the ICO.
Keep it plain-English
A privacy policy dense with legalese does little for trust or compliance. Write it so an ordinary customer can understand how their data is used.
Keep it in sync
Your privacy policy must match what you actually do. If you change how you use data or your tools, update the policy. This is general guidance, not legal advice.
